Welcome to Jansen Research

Documentation of concepts and research

A platform to share research, tools, and insights in condensed matter physics and materials discovery.

I’m Edward Jansen, a physics PhD student at Stony Brook University focused on the discovery of next generation materials. Over the past few years, I’ve contributed to research projects in both experimental and theoretical condensed matter physics alongside faculty and collaborators in academic and national lab settings, focusing on emergent phenomena in strongly correlated systems.

Understanding and controlling emergent phenomena in materials is essential for addressing global challenges. Progress in quantum materials is key to developing technologies for energy efficiency, high-performance computing, and the precise detection of of magnetic fields. This platform serves as a record of my past and current research, and a space to share future directions as I journey to the frontiers of materials science.
